Noted mountain guide, Tom Wison, is shown here leaving Banff for the mountains. Behind him are the Vermilion Lakes and the familiar profile of Mount Rundle. Tom Wilson learned the ways of the mountains while packing supplies for the C.P.R. survey crews who were seeking a pass through the mountains in the early 1880’s. One of the paintings created for the book “Legendry Horsemen: Images of the Canadian West”.
